This irreverent, iconoclastic five-piece always hits the stage in an explosion of energy.
With a combination of accordion, mandolin, melodica, saxophone, double bass and zydeco metal wash-board, their wacky eccentricity and seemingly "falling-apart" looseness belies some seriously tight arrangements, stunning musicianship and vocal wizardry.
The repertoire combines traditional Eastern-European dance medleys, yiddish schmaltz and gypsy swing with originals in the same vein.
Once seen, never forgotten. Sheer fun!
A great end to a fantastic Sunday night out.
Hershal Herscher - accordion
Nigel Gavin - mandolin,
Linn Lorkin - lead vocals and melodica,
John Ellis - saxophones and percussion
Peter Scott - double bass.
