The National Jazz Festival is the longest running Jazz Festival in the southern hemisphere, and one of the oldest Jazz Festivals in the world. The Tauranga Jazz Society is behind the annual festival, which has brought the city of Tauranga to life and entertained hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to the Bay of Plenty every Easter weekend for more than 50 years.

Every Easter a fantastic line up of kiwi jazz musicians showcase some of the best jazz in the world, right here on our doorstep. In 2013, more than 45,000 people attended National Jazz Festival events in Tauranga over the Easter long weekend.

With ticketed concerts; a Downtown Carnival that runs over two days on the beautiful Tauranga waterfront and boasts 5 stages of free music; and a slice of New Orleans at our family-friendly Jazz Village, there is something for everyone.
